Patagonia National Park is officially created at December 11/2018. It is made up of a total area almost unexplored of 304.527,75 hectares.
Most of the territory that currently makes up the Patagonia National Park includes the area of the Lago Jeinimeni National Reserve (Tamango), including Chacabuco Valley sector, an area donated to the state by Tompkins Conservation Foundation, within the framework of the Patagonian Parks Network initiative.
