RUBENS VALLEY
The Biobío River Valley in Lonquimay is a place of untamed nature and deep Andean identity. Nestled in the heart of Chile’s Araucanía mountain range, the upper stretch of the Biobío flows through native forests of araucarias and coigües, shaped by volcanic slopes and pure mountain air.
Its cold, oxygen-rich waters form a technical river, perfect for floating and reading every structure — deep pools, tight runs, soft edges. Here, fly fishing becomes more than just a sport; it’s a way to connect with the landscape and to engage wild trout that test both skill and patience.
In this valley, every fishing day feels like an expedition. Few places in Chile offer such a powerful combination of solitude, river intensity, and natural authenticity.

The Geography let Us have a good and diverse type of Fly Fishing program, We are settle right in the upper Andes mountain thick vegetation forest and over viewing the open flat valleys near the border with Argentina. Mostly float trips in rivers, with more than 40 miles of Bio Bio river 4 to 5 different section already available to float, also Lonquimay river, Rahue river Lakes, lagoons and spring creeks are in the menu.
Earlier in the season is good to fish the head waters and the spring creeks.
Mid summer, hotter weather is great to float all rivers and wade the mid size rivers. Dry fly action or matching the hatch will be the deal.
March and April, fall season fishing is excellent to wait for the big browns that run up stream and get ready for the spawning season.

The logistic is not complicated in terms of distance, the max in between 30 min to ONE hour you reach many different rivers, some private access and we have the boats to selects river float or lake fishing.
Resident brown trout and rainbows are in our water. In a float trip you can expect average 16 to 22 inches trout, every week we are seeing and catching 24 plus inches resident trout. Rarely we see other local boats floating.
Streamer fishing from the boat is what appears to be the easiest ways, but our area is likely so diverse that we can fish dries and droppers, sight fishing, big dry flies, match the hatch, etc.
