HOW TO GET THERE

  • To consider: Both main Local airports are about 7 hours drive distance. We provide confortable 4WD vehicules to transfer to the lodge. We Will customize In and out Logistics  depending on the group domestics and international flights.

Main acceses:

  • BALMACEDA – CHILE, main Domestic airport.
  • Santiago SCL, Chile connecting Domestic flight to Balmaceda BBA- a private lodge transfer Will pick all clients to  border crossing to Argentina and then drive to the lodge.  (The border control is right near the Airport).

The area

This new fishery is located in the Tucu Tucu Valley, most isolated area in Patagonia. Right near the border Chile and Argentina up high Pampa facing the Patagonian Andes.  

There are two lakes, a main river that tumbles down off the Patagonia meseta and a beautiful spring creek, plus an unexplored number of ponds that hold memorable size trout . The lake, Quiroga, is a large, crystalline, high altitude, endorheic lake. It’s slightly more alkaline waters hold a massive cache of food for the trout.

 

THE LODGE

The lodge, a typical Estancia house located in a private 42.000 Acres property. The right place where the anglers can choose several fishing spots every day. We can host 6 anglers per week, staying in double rooms with private bathrooms. All the common area give the perfect space and relaxing privacy to enjoy every day.

MEALS AND DRINKS

A Typical Patagonia Estancia menu will be offer for the trip.

The Quincho for the lamb and beef asado as well as appetizers, breakfast, lunch and diners will be complete with a delicious empanadas, sandwiches, pastas, salads and do not forget about the Red wine and beers will be ready in a glass for every customer.

TYPICAL FISHING ITINERARY.

Guides: We have 3 bilingual flyfishing guides from the area. 
Capacity: 6 anglers
Since the logistic to get to the lodge will very depending from which way the client are coming,
the day ONE, will be half of day or late start fishing.

8:00 AM Breakfast will be serve in the dinning room.
9: 00 AM The guides will be ready to take you out fishing.

River side lunch will be serve by your guide, usually around 2 pm.

18:00 to 19:00 Hrs. you will be back to the lodge, cocktails and appetizers will be ready.

20:30 Hrs. Dinner will be serve, mean while the head guide will explain the details for your next day fishing trip.

$ 6.490 per Angler / base double occ.

Minimum stay:  5 nights/4 days:  $5.100 USD

Reservations: 

In order to secure space, a 50% advance payment is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. Advance payments are non refundable unless the client finds a replacement.

Trip Cancelation:

Guests will be able to reschedule travel dates up to the following season, at no cost with a 70% credit of all payments done to the time of cancellation, in case of international travel restrictions due to: health (for example: Covid-19) , political, humanitarian or military related issues. This will be subject to availability of space at the lodge at time of rebooking.. For all other cancellation causes payments are non refundable unless client finds replacement guests. We strongly suggest, guests buy trip cancellation insurance that will cover risks such as : Work, injury or personal health related issues, etc.

THE FISHING

The geography and the valleys formation offers a great mix and diversity of fishing options for every day.
Streams, spring creeks, lakes and ponds are in the menú.

Mainly fishing for rainbows that move from the lake up or down to the creeks (Lake runners), also we have residents trout (Rain bows and Brown trout), these hold in the spring creeks, lakes and ponds at the Estancia.
When our visitors fish this destination, the main goal for Us, is to show the clients the water that hold Trout size from 5 to 10 pounds. When the right conditions and water level matches, anglers will always have the chance to catch 15 to 20 pound fish.

In November, December and first week of January is the time you will find more trophy trout in the rivers.
Middle summer January to February we recommend to fish the spring creeks and the lakes.
Always March and April is the time when fish started to move again and will all depends on the water level to select the area to fish.

CAPACITY: For 2024 we will have a max of 6 anglers fishing per week.
SEASON: Starts the first week of November up to the end of April.

THE WEATHER: Here is real Patagonia weather, the area is facing to the west and capture all the humidity that comes from the Pacific Ocean. The wind in the flat pampas will always welcome the usual way.
Middle of the summer will get worm days as change quickly during the week.

As this area is up higher the valleys will get rain turning slow fall during the beginning or the fall season.
